Worship leading, as a lay leader and as a preacher, was one of my first introductions to ministry. As a high schooler, I was fascinated and moved by youth “circle” worship, where instead of the traditional Sunday morning service highlighted with a sermon, we gathered in the candlelight for singing, storytelling, and ritual. Although I love to write sermons and share them with congregations, there is a special place in my heart for worship that is heart-centered and embodied.
